This privacy statement describes the measures Citizen Circle-Safe Earth LTD. takes to protect your privacy. Although we are an English company, we also operate in German-speaking countries and respect their privacy policies. When you use our website, you entrust us with data. Personal data collected by us is particularly worthy of protection. In the following, we explain how, and which data is collected by us, why we do this and what we do with the collected data.

Personal data is data that can be associated with your person and provide information about your behaviour or characteristics. This includes your name, address, postal address, and telephone number, but also information about your possible interests or your donation behaviour and your surfing habits, if this information can be directly or indirectly assigned to you personally.

You have the following rights against us about the personal data concerning you:

  • You have the right of access, rectification, cancellation, restriction of processing, opposition to processing and data transferability. Insofar as processing is based on your consent, you have the right to revoke this consent with effect for the future
  • According to Art. 21, paragraph 1 of the DPA, you have the right to object at any time, for reasons arising from your particular situation, to the processing of personal data concerning you that is carried out on the basis of Art. 6, paragraph 1e of the DPA (data processing in the public interest) or on the basis of Art. 6, paragraph 1f of the DPA (data processing to safeguard a legitimate interest), including profiling based on this provision. In the event of your objection, we will no longer process your personal data, unless we can prove compelling reasons for processing that are worthy of protection and outweigh your interests, rights and freedoms, or the processing serves to assert, exercise or defend legal claims
  • If we process your personal data for the purpose of direct marketing, you have the right to object at any time to the processing of personal data concerning you for the purpose of such marketing, including profiling, in accordance with Art. 21, para. 2 of the DPA. If you object to the processing of your personal data for the purpose of direct marketing, we will no longer process your personal data for these purposes
  • You also have the right to complain to a competent data protection supervisory authority about the processing of your personal data by us.

When you contact us by e-mail or via a contact form, the data you provide (your e-mail address, your name and telephone number if applicable) will be stored by us in order to answer your questions. As far as we ask for input via our contact form that is not necessary for contacting us, we have marked this as optional. This information serves us to concretize your inquiry and to improve the processing of your request. Any communication of this information is expressly on a voluntary basis and with your consent, Art. 6 para. 1a DSGVO. If this information concerns communication channels (e.g. e-mail address, telephone number), you also agree that we may contact you via this communication channel to answer your request. You can of course revoke this consent at any time in the future.
We will delete the data collected in this context after storage is no longer required or restrict processing if there are legal storage obligations.

If you use the website for informational purposes only, i.e. if you do not register or otherwise provide us with information, we only collect the personal data that your browser sends to our server. If you wish to view our website, we collect the following data, which is technically necessary for us to display our website and to ensure its stability and security. The legal basis for this is Art. 6 para. 1f DSGVO:

      • IP address: For the retrieval of web pages of Citizen Circle-Safe Earth LTD. the short-term registration of the IP number is indispensable. The IP address is the worldwide valid, unique identification of a computer and consists of four number blocks separated by dots. In most cases, you will not use a constant IP address as a private user, as your provider will only assign it temporarily for one session. Nevertheless, with static IP addresses, a clear assignment of the user*internal data is in principle possible using this feature. Our web servers store IP addresses for a maximum of 24 hours. After that, the access data is anonymized
      • Date and time of the request
      • Time zone difference to Greenwich Mean Time (GMT)
      • Content of the request (concrete page)
      • Access Status/HTTP Status Code
      • Amount of data transferred in each case
      • Website from which the request comes
      • Browser
      • Operating system and its interface
      • Language and version of the browser software

With your consent according to Art. 6 para. 1a DSGVO you can subscribe to our newsletter, with which we inform you about our work, our current offers, campaigns and news on climate and environmental protection. We use the so-called double opt-in procedure to subscribe to our newsletter. This means that after your registration we will send you an e-mail to the e-mail address you have provided, in which we ask you to confirm that you wish to receive the newsletter. If you do not confirm your registration within 24 hours, your information will be deleted.

Mandatory data for the sending of the newsletter are

      • Salutation
      • Last name
      • POSTAL CODE
      • Country / Region
      • E-Mail

The specification of further, separately marked data like:

      • Title
      • first name
      • Street, house number
      • Phone
      • Year of birth
      • etc.

is voluntary and is used to address you personally. After your confirmation we will save your e-mail address for the purpose of sending you the newsletter. The legal basis is Art. 6 para. 1a DSGVO. You can revoke your consent to the sending of the newsletter at any time and unsubscribe from the newsletter. You can revoke your consent by clicking on the link provided in each newsletter e-mail or by sending a request to mail@30-DD.com. The data will be deleted as soon as they are no longer required for the purpose of their collection. Your e-mail address will therefore be stored if your subscription to the newsletter is active.
We would like to point out that we evaluate your user behaviour when the newsletter is sent. We record which newsletters have been opened and use this information to adapt the future newsletter dispatch to your needs (e.g. reminder e-mail if newsletters have not been opened). The legal basis for this is Art. 6 para. 1f DSGVO. Our interest lies in the needs-based adaptation of the newsletters that you have requested from us.

      • Links included in newsletters contain UTM parameters. The UTM parameters allow us to add traceable extensions to your URLs. The parameters are:
      • source: With this UTM parameter we define the source of the link. This can be newsletters, websites, landing pages, RECOM systems or social media channels
      • campaign: The actual campaigns are marked with this type of UTM parameter. For example, if we send you a newsletter every month, the individual newsletters can be evaluated separately
      • term: Keywords to better identify the link
      • content: Within a campaign, we insert various elements to be tracked to clearly identify and separately evaluate them. Examples: Button, image, or video

Important: The UTM data is only collected pseudonymously.

If you register for one of our personalized online services, such as subscribing to an online newsletter or making a donation online, we will ask you for your name and other personal information that we need for this purpose. The legal basis for this data processing is your consent, Art. 6 para. 1a DSGVO. Under no circumstances will we use your personal data for other purposes without your consent. The data will be deleted as soon as they are no longer required for the purpose of their collection and no legal retention periods apply. As a matter of principle, your data will be transmitted to us in encrypted form to prevent access by unauthorized third parties. If you donate online or participate in a petition, we may also store the so-called Banner-ID. This is part of the URL that you see in the address line of your browser. This allows us to track how you found your way to the donation or petition page (for example, through a banner ad on another web site or a banner on the Citizen Circle-Safe Earth LTD. web site). We also store UTM parameters to measure the success of online campaigns. UTM parameters allow us to see which channel you used to subscribe to our newsletter or find out about our participation activities such as petition signings or donations. This information is important for us to provide less information to contributors and supporters via channels that they do not actually use. The legal basis for this data processing is our legitimate interest in the evaluation and improvement of our online campaigns, Art. 6 para. 1f DSGVO. We store your data on specially protected servers. Access is only possible for a few specially authorized persons, who are all familiar with the relevant data protection regulations.

For online actions such as protest mails or petitions, certain date and time are

      • First and last name
      • Address
      • Phone number
      • E-Mail

and printed out or forwarded in electronic form to the addressees of the respective action. The legal basis for this data processing is your consent, Art. 6 para. 1a DSGVO. In order to ensure that participants in protest actions exist in reality and for reasons of protection against spam and abuse, you must confirm your participation in actions: After participation you will receive an e-mail with a corresponding confirmation link. Under no circumstances will we use your personal data for other purposes without your consent. The data will be deleted as soon as they are no longer required for the purpose for which they were collected. Citizen Circle – Safe Earth LTD. also offers the opportunity to participate in certain environmental protection campaigns and petitions of other organizations, to donate to such campaigns or to make other people aware of such campaigns. These campaigns are run, among other things, on websites in the context of transnational cooperation between Citizen Circle – Safe Earth LTD. offices in other countries. When you access these websites, you leave the web area operated by Citizen Circle-Safe Earth LTD. and subject to our Privacy Policy. The privacy policy of the respective Citizen Circle-Safe Earth LTD. will then apply. office that operates the Campaign’s web site, as identified on the respective web site (such as www.ccse4U.com, www.green-4-free.com and others – operated by Citizen Circle-Safe Earth LTD.). If these microsites offer you the opportunity to sign a petition, you will be redirected back to the website from this website www.30-DD.com. The German data protection regulations will then apply again without restriction.

To analysis and optimization of our websites we use various services, which are described below. For example, we can analyse how many users visit our site, which information is most in demand or how users find the offer. Among other things, we collect data about which website a person concerned came to a website from (so-called referrer), which sub-pages of the website were accessed or how often and for how long a subpage was viewed. This helps us to design and improve our website in a user-friendly manner. The data collected in the process is not used to personally identify individual users. Anonymous or at most pseudonymous data is collected. The legal basis for this is Art. 6 para. 1 fDSGVO. This website uses Google Analytics, a web analysis service of Google LLC, (1600 Amphitheatre Parkway Mountain View, CA 94043, USA). This makes it possible to assign data, sessions, and interactions across multiple devices to a pseudonymous User ID and thus to analyse the activities of a user across multiple devices. Google Analytics uses cookies to help the website analyse how users use the site. The information generated by the cookie about your use of this website is usually transferred to a Google server in the USA and stored there. However, due to the activation of IP anonymization on this website, your IP address will be shortened by Google within member states of the European Union or in other signatory states of the Agreement on the European Economic Area before. Only in exceptional cases will the full IP address be transferred to a Google server in the USA and shortened there. The IP address transmitted by your browser within the scope of Google Analytics is not merged with other data from Google. Google will use this information for the purpose of evaluating your use of the website, compiling reports on website activity and providing other services relating to website activity and internet usage for website operators. Our legitimate interest in data processing also lies in these purposes. The legal basis for the use of Google Analytics is 1f DSGVO. The data sent by us and linked to cookies or user IDs (e.g. user ID) are automatically deleted after 38 months. Data whose retention period has been reached is automatically deleted once a month. You can also prevent the collection of data generated by the cookie and related to your use of the website (including your IP address) to Google and the processing of this data by Google by downloading and installing https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=de. Opt-out cookies prevent the future collection of your data when visiting this website. To prevent Universal Analytics from collecting data across multiple devices, you must opt-out on all systems in use. Click here to set the opt-out cookie: Disable Google Analytics.

      • Use of Google Maps

We use Google Maps, a service of Google LLC (1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA; “Google”). Google Maps is used to integrate map material into our website, for example to show our location. If you call up a website of our Internet offer in which Google Maps is integrated, a connection is established to a Google server and your IP address is transmitted to display the map and, if necessary, stored there. Depending on the device you are using and approved app authorizations, your location and user*internal data may also be transmitted. The server location can be in the USA. Legal basis for the use of Google Maps is our legitimate interest in the optimization of our online offer, Art. 6 para. 1f DSGVO. More information about Google’s handling of user data and cookies can be found in Google’s privacy policy: https://www.google.de/intl/de/policies/privacy/. You can manage your advertising settings on Google or deactivate personalized advertising via the ad settings.

You can apply online to Citizen Circle-Safe Earth LTD. through our application portal. Your online application or video application will be forwarded directly to the Human Resources Department via an encrypted connection and will be treated confidentially. We will of course use your details exclusively for processing your application and will not pass them on to third parties.
Your personal data will be deleted immediately after completion of the application process, or after a maximum of 6 months, unless you have given us your express consent to store your data for a longer period of time or a contract has been concluded. The legal basis is Art. 6 para. 1a, b and f DSGVO as well as § 26 BDSG.

      • Google

We use the Google Tag Manager, a service of Google LLC. (1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA; “Google”). The Google Tag Manager does not collect any personal information itself. The Tag Manager makes it easy for us to integrate and manage our tags. Tags are small pieces of code that are used to measure traffic and visitor behaviour, measure the impact of online advertising and social channels, set up remarketing and targeting, and test and optimize websites, among other things. If you have opted out of personalized advertising by Google, the Google Tag Manager will take this opt-out into account. For more information about the Google Tag Manager, please visit https://www.google.com/intl/de/tagmanager/use-policy.html. For more information about Google’s use of data for marketing purposes, please see the advertising summary page and the Google Privacy Policy. If you wish to opt-out of interest-based advertising through Google marketing services, you may do so by using the opt-out and opt-in options provided by Google: http://www.google.com/ads/preferences. We use DoubleClick, a service of Google LLC. (1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA; “Google”). The service is integrated via YouTube. DoubleClick uses cookies to serve user-based ads. DoubleClick’s use of cookies enables Google and its partner websites to serve ads based on previous visits to our or other websites on the Internet. The cookies recognize which ads have already been placed in your browser and whether you have visited a website via a placed ad. Affected persons are all users* of our online offer. Legal basis for the use of Google DoubleClick is our legitimate interest in the optimization of our online offer and the promotion of our association’s purposes, Art. 6 para. 1f DSGVO. If you do not wish to receive user-based advertising, you can deactivate the placement of ads using Google’s ad settings. Further information on what types of and how Google uses cookies can be found in the Google privacy policy and under “Cookie types used by Google”. To help us promote our current projects and developments, planned activities, or environmentally friendly products and services, we display Google AdWords ads and use Google’s conversion tracking to do so. These ads are displayed after search queries on websites of the Google advertising network. We can combine our ads with specific search terms. We also use AdWords remarketing lists for search ads. This enables us to adapt search ad campaigns for users* who have visited our website before. The services allow us to combine our ads with specific keywords or to serve ads to previous visitors, for example, advertising services that visitors have viewed on our site. An analysis of online user behaviour is necessary for interest-based offers. Google uses cookies to perform this analysis. When clicking on an advertisement or visiting our website, Google sets a cookie on the user*s computer. This information is used to be able to address the visitors*in a later search query. Further information on the cookie technology used can also be found in Google’s notes on website statistics and in the data protection regulations. This technology allows Google and Citizen Circle – Safe Earth® to receive information about when a user* has clicked on an ad and been redirected to our websites. The information obtained in this way is used exclusively for statistical evaluation for ad optimization. We do not receive any information that can be used to identify visitors personally. Your IP address is transmitted to Google. However, since we use Google’s IP masking on this website in the context of using Google Analytics, your IP address is anonymized. The statistics provided to us by Google include the total number of users who clicked on one of our advertisements and, if applicable, whether they were forwarded to a page of our website marked with a conversion tag. These statistics enable us to see which search terms lead to the most frequent clicks on our ads and which ads lead to users contacting us via the contact form. If you do not want this, you can prevent the storage of the cookies required for these technologies, e.g. via the settings of your browser. In this case, your visit will not be included in the user*in statistics. You also have the option of selecting the types of Google ads or deactivating interest-based ads on Google via the ad settings. Alternatively, you can disable the use of cookies by third parties by visiting the Network Advertising Initiative’s opt-out help page. However, we and Google will continue to receive statistical information about how many users have visited this site and when. If you do not want to be included in these statistics either, you can prevent this by using additional programs for your browser (e.g. the Ghostery add-on). On our website we use the dynamic remarketing function of Google AdWords, a service of Google LLC. (1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA; “Google”). This technology enables us to automatically generate targeted advertising after your visit to our website. The ads are based on the online engagement options we offer, which you clicked on the last time you visited our website. These can be online petition or donation forms. Google uses cookies to serve ads based on your interests. Cookies are small text files that are stored in your browser when you visit our website. Google usually stores information such as your web request, IP address, browser type, browser language, date, and time of your request. This information is only used to assign the web browser to a specific computer. It is not used to identify a person. For remarketing purposes, we only use data that we have already collected using Google Analytics. For this purpose, we create target groups based on the Google Analytics data already collected. The aim is to be able to target users who have completed certain steps on the website. For this purpose, advertisements are then provided for the defined target groups in the Google display network. The existing Google Analytics pixel is used for the data collection, all data required for the evaluation is stored in a cookie. Since the data collection is done via Google Analytics, all collected data is pseudonymized. A conclusion on individual persons is not possible for us. If you do not wish to receive user-based advertising from Google, you can deactivate the display of ads using the Google ad settings or alternatively select the types of Google ads. In addition, you can prevent the storage of cookies required for this technology by adjusting your browser software accordingly; however, we would like to point out that in this case you may not be able to use all the functions of this website to their full extent. For information on how to prevent data collection by Google Analytics, please refer to the section “Use of Google Analytics”. You can read more information on how Google uses cookies in the Google privacy policy.

      • Facebook

As part of an ad campaign to support our petitions on Facebook, we are using the Custom Audiences service of Facebook Inc. (1601 S. California Avenue, Palo Alto, CA 94304, USA). To this end, we use the Facebook ad manager to target users based on specific characteristics, who are then displayed Citizen Circle – Safe Earth® ads within the social network. Users are selected by Facebook based on the profile information they provide, and other information provided through their use of Facebook. When a user clicks on an ad and then visits our website, the Facebook pixel embedded on our website tells Facebook whether the user has effectively participated in our petition. In principle, a non-reversible and non-personal checksum (hash value) is generated from your usage data, which is transmitted to Facebook for analysis and marketing purposes. A Facebook cookie is set in the process. This records information about your activities on our website (e.g. surfing behaviour, sub-pages visited, etc.). Your IP address is also stored and used for the geographical distribution of advertising. After submitting the petition or protest form, the user* will be given the opportunity to confirm participation by clicking on a link (e-mail notification) as part of the double opt-in procedure. This page view by the user*in is registered by Facebook via the Facebook pixel. In this case, the user*in the following will be shown a “Sponsor*in to be-Advertisement” in the social network. If the confirmation link is not clicked, the user* will subsequently be shown a “Please confirm” ad on Facebook. We do not use Facebook Custom Audiences via the customer list or the “extended matching” function. Further information about the purpose and scope of data collection and the further processing and use of data by Facebook as well as your options for privacy protection can be found in the Facebook privacy policy. You can make settings about which advertisements are displayed to you on Facebook by clicking this link and in the account settings of Facebook. The transfer of data to the USA is permitted in accordance with Art. 45 DSGVO, as Facebook is Privacy Shield certified and therefore an adequate level of data protection exists in accordance with the implementing decision of the Commission (EU) 2016/1250 (http://eur-lex.europa.eu/legal-content/DE/TXT/HTML/?uri=CELEX:32016D1250…). The certification can be viewed at https://www.privacyshield.gov/participant?id=a2zt0000000GnywAAC&status=A… The legal basis for the described data processing is a legitimate interest according to Art. 6 para. 1 p. 1 f DSGVO, namely the promotion of our association’s purposes and targeted advertising of campaigns and petitions. You can stop the data collection by the Facebook pixel by clicking on this link. An opt-out cookie is set, which prevents the future collection of your data when you visit this website. The opt-out cookie applies only to this browser and only to this domain. If you delete your cookies in this browser, you will need to click the link again. You can also prevent the storage of cookies altogether by adjusting your browser software accordingly. However, we would like to point out that in this case you may not be able to use all functions of our website to their full extent. You can find further options for deactivating cookies by third parties* at www.networkadvertising.org/managing/opt_out.asp or Digital Advertising Alliance Opt-Out Platform.

      • New Relic

Through the Stackla service, this website provides access to New Relic, a performance analysis service of the provider New Relic Inc. (101 Second Street, 15th Floor, San Francisco, CA 94105). New Relic uses cookies to collect data on the behavior of users* on our website. This information is then used to create and store user profiles using pseudonyms. The pseudonymized user profiles will not be merged with personal data of the website users*without a separate, explicit consent of the persons concerned. In addition, we use New Relic to measure and monitor the technical performance of our website, i.e. to determine, for example, whether the website can be accessed and how quickly the respective page is displayed. For this purpose, New Relic collects data via this website, such as system data on used add-ons, usage times, used browsers, used hardware and software (so-called “application data”). In addition, New Relic sets one or more cookies in your browser. The application data are stored on the servers of New Relic and are also used for the analysis of the performance of this website to compare the performance of different websites. The cookies set by New Relic have a maximum duration of 24 months. The legal basis for the described data processing is our legitimate interest in optimizing, measuring and securing our website, Art. 6 para. 1f DSGVO. You can prevent the storage of cookies altogether by adjusting your browser software accordingly. However, we point out that in this case you may not be able to use all functions of our website to their full extent. You can find further options for deactivating cookies by third parties* at www.networkadvertising.org/managing/opt_out.asp or Digital Advertising Alliance Opt-Out Platform. • Twitter

We use the Twitter Ads service of Twitter Inc. for usage-based online advertising. (1355 Market Street, Suite 900, San Francisco, CA 94103, USA). For this purpose, the Twitter pixels and Twitter cookies placed on our sites enable us to track the actions of our users* after they have seen or clicked on a Twitter ad. Through the integration of Twitter ads, Twitter receives the information that the users* have accessed the corresponding part of our website or clicked on an ad from us. This enables us to measure the effectiveness of Twitter ads for statistical and/or market research purposes. We receive statistical evaluations from Twitter which enable us to identify which of the advertising measures used are particularly effective. If you are logged in to a Twitter service, Twitter can assign the visit to your account. Even if you are not logged in to Twitter, it is possible that the provider* will find out and save your IP address. Further information about the purpose and scope of data collection by Twitter Ads and the further processing and use of data for own purposes by Twitter can be found here, as well as in the privacy policy of Twitter. By using the so-called “Re-Tweet” button you can share the visited website or article with other users. In doing so, the websites you visit will be linked to your Twitter account. For more information, please see the privacy policy of Twitter. You can change your privacy settings on Twitter in the account settings at http://twitter.com/account/settings. The transfer of data to the USA is permitted under Art. 45 DSGVO, as Twitter Inc. is certified under the EU-US Privacy Shield, thus ensuring a level of protection for your data that is comparable to European data protection law. You can download the certificate here. Legal basis for the described data processing is our legitimate interest according to Art. 6 para. 1 p. 1 f DSGVO. We therefore use the Twitter conversion tracking / Twitter pixel for marketing and optimization purposes and to determine which of the advertising measures used are particularly effective. This is also our legitimate interest in the processing.
